This trip to Tokyo - we didn’t have much time to go skiing and decided to make a day trip to Fujiten. This place is great for playing in snow and skiing especially for beginners. There are several ski lifts and beginners runs. Saw lots of students learning how to ski. Good place to come if you feel like skiing and some snow fun and the drive is not too far from Tokyo. There is a cafe next to the ski rental and another one upstairs. On a clear day - you can see Mount Fuji in the background and that makes a lovely view. Fujiten is another clear example of this. Most staff cant speak a second language. Management should also realise there will be tourist who has never ski before. So the logical thing to do is to put a few staff around the slopes to assist these people. Simple things like putting on the skis will be alien to us. The idea is to make things easier, faster and enjoyable for December 29, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It free entrance at front, for kids playground pay for 700 yen and rent a slide for 500 yen. Since me and my kids don't play sky having here and play a slide is very fun, kids also fun with snow. And the best thing, since we moslem, the resort provide prayer room also. So, its great experience. From the lodge and the lift-chair, you can see nicely, but not so much on the way down. The runs are rather easy, making this a good spot for new skiers and riders. As a local, I love this resort because of the 2000 yen night ski. That being said, I would recommend visitors who want to ski japan do resorts in Nagano instead for a true alpine ski February 18, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Inside the resort, there is a store that sell all those skiing stuffs... So need not be worry if you had forgotten your gloves, google,boots... the 2nd level is the cafeteria. Which serves food and drinks and a good view of the whole ski and my wife went for private lesson for half day personal coaching which consist of 2 hrs with all the equipment included. Like Boots, skis...The personal instructor was able to speak english and patient too. But too focus on the timing with the remaining 20mins into the duration of the lesson, he advise us to go back. Which i commented that wanted to go up the higher hill to ski down. So total is only 1hr 40mins in the private lesson. For beginners, would advise you to have a personal trainer. So that you will know how to handle the ski instead of self learning which might be silly to see yourself falling all May 25, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Our tour guide and driver that day was Gary; and he was beyond excellent! Gary is a Filipino based in Japan so our family easily warmed up to him! It definitely made the trip light and easygoing!I was a little bit intimidated by the idea of visiting Fujiten Snow Resort as this was honestly my first time dealing with snow. Most visitors rented skis and snowboards; but fortunately, the resort also offers a Ski Lift service for non-skiers like my family to still allow us to make the most out of our time be honest, we were struggling a bit to walk through the ice; given that we were a pretty clumsy family and compounded by the fact that the sun was glaringly bright at that took us a while to locate the ski lift primarily because there were only a handful of visitors who opted for this activity; but the effort was worth it. The lift afforded you great views of Mt. Fuji and the resort. They'll let you alight once you have ascended to the peak as it gives you access to a small photo op area which gives you an unobstructed view of the peak of Mt. Fuji!Once you're done, you can just hop on back to the lift to descend back to its main station!Written April 6, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is a tad inconvenient to get to as even with your Japan Rail Pass you can only get to Otsuki station then pay around £7 to get to Kawaguchiko station before taking a taxi for £35 one way to get to the resort and then hire bikes ranging from £60 hardtail to £150 full sus for the whole day including helmet and unlimited lift rides to the top. They have a canteen with ramen and a couple of other dishes you can get for around £7 each but bring cash or else you are stuck without food! You can also get lockers for your stuff but they were an extra £ once you get past that, the trails are super fun but not suitable for anyone who is still nervous as they don't have any flat segments, it is just all downhill so you do pick up some speed. For the very brave they have black trails with plenty of hardcore jumps as well! Overall a nice day out if you are committed to going for a ride. In retrospect, I would have hired a car for the day from Tokyo as it would have ended up being cheaper than the train and taxis and parking is free as far as we could July 10, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Intro Get There Hotels Snow Town Yeti is a small ski resort on the southern slope of Mount Fuji. It is notable as one of only two ski resorts found on Mount Fuji the other is Fujiten and because it is one of the first snow resorts in Japan to open each season around mid to late October with man-made snow. The resort has three lifts two of which run parallel to each other and four runs. Its two main runs are each about 1000 meters long and well suited to beginner skiers and snowboarders. The shorter 500 meter secondary runs are steeper and narrower and closed during night skiing. The resort also has a small terrain park with jumps and rails, and a separate snow play area for kids, sledding and beginner skiers. Snow canons provide the resort with man-made snow when nature does not cooperate, which is not an uncommon occurrence.
